UP-162GST is a 16-port 10/100/1000Mbps PoE and 2-port 1000Mbps SFP unmanaged Ethernet switch which provides permanent connections for a greater range of devices and applications. This device integrates the benefits of 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, and 10 Mbps Ethernet. UP-162GST multi-mode switches may still behave differently in different modes: Normal (All ports forward Ethernet frames to each other); VLAN (Predefined VLAN set where ports 1 to 16 are isolated from each other, but forward Ethernet frames through the SFP1 or SFP2 uplink port); Extend (Ports 1 to 8 work on 10Mbps, thereby the maximum cabling distance up to 250 meters (820 feet). All ports forward Ethernet frames to each other). Based on Gigabit Ethernet technology, UP-162GST helps address the challenges of network bottlenecks or optimal network resource allocations when computers and users constantly increase. PoE features are supported for IEEE 802.3at-compliant class 4 powered devices (PD), UP-162GST switches automatically detect each PD’s power consumption and deliver up to 30 watts over Cat 5,6 cables with 25.5 watts available to devices. The switch tracks its power budget (PoE budget) of 240W and grants power only when it is available. PoE is a technology that delivers both data connection and electric power to devices over a single Ethernet cable. It also provides an opportunity of setting up network equipment (Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras, IP phones, etc.) without having to connect to AC power. UP-162GST features a 1U rack-mount design and offers easy customization for different implementations (for example, CCTV or monitoring systems).
