This model is a 16-port Gigabit PoE unmanaged Ethernet switch. The switch integrates the benefits of 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, and 10 Mbps Ethernet. The device may still behave differently in different modes: Normal (Flow Control is enabled and all ports forward Ethernet frames to each other) VLAN (Predefined VLAN set where ports 1 to 14 are isolated of each other, but forward Ethernet frames through the uplink ports 15 or 16) Extend (Ports 1 to 8 work on 10Mbps, thereby the maximum cabling distance up to 250 meters (820 feet). All ports forward Ethernet frames to each other.) Based on Gigabit Ethernet technology, UP-16GT helps address the challenges of network bottlenecks or optimal network resource allocations when computers and users constantly increase. PoE features are supported for IEEE 802.3at-compliant class 4 powered devices (PD), UP-16GT switches automatically detect each PD’s power consumption and deliver up to 30 watts over Cat 5,6 cables with 25.5 watts available to devices. The switch tracks its power budget (PoE budget) of 135W and grants power only when it is available. PoE is a technology that delivers both data connection and electric power to devices over a single Ethernet cable. This allows the use UP-16GT for a broad range of devices and applications such as Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras, IP phones, etc. It provides an opportunity of setting up network equipment without having to connect to AC power. UP-16G features a 1U rack-mount design and offers easy customization for different implementations (for example, CCTV or monitoring systems).
