Fully Layer 2 and higher (L2+) managed 8-port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ switch UP-309MGEC helps customers to decrease operating expenses on mounting and cabling. Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology allows to use the same Ethernet cable (CAT5 and later) to deliver power and data to endpoints. This switch has 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE+ that deliver up to 30 watts of electricity to powered devices (PDs) like high-power Wi-Fi access points, PTZ IP cameras, VoIP devices and others. Two RJ-45/SFP Combo ports support a long-distance connection to the upstream switch, e.g., through optic fiber with transfer rate up to 1 Gbps. This switch also offers full Layer 2+ management for the purposes of PoE control, network management, monitoring and security control. Combining high performance, operational efficiency and high PoE power transfer, it is a perfect choice to optimize your network. Switches automatically detect power consumption of each PD and deliver up to 30 watts of electricity (with 25.5 watts available) to devices compliant with IEEE 802.3at standard and up to 15.4 watts to IEEE 802.3af compliant devices. PoE+ budget is 130W. Within the PoE budget, UP-309MGEC supplies up to four class-4 PDs. If a connected device does not support any PoE technology the power supply is locked, and a corresponding port transmits only data. When switch ports are idle, GREENforce technology provides up to 70% of energy saving. The switching capacity of 20 Gbps ensures effective network functioning and prevents network overloads. LED indication of network connections simplifies network troubleshooting. UP-309MGEC includes the following full-fledged L2 management functionality: up to 4K 802.1q VLAN, Private VLAN, MVR, and extended VLAN functions; 8-queue QoS; Spanning Tree protocols (STP, RSTP, MSTP); IGMP snooping and IPv6 Multicast; access to PoE settings (mode or power consumption, power delay, scheduling); port settings (Bandwidth Control, Port Mirroring, Storm Control); network settings (LACP, LLDP, sFlow); extended security functions. Switch management is implemented through the command line interface (CLI), SNMP, Web graphical user interface (Web GUI). The switch supports extended security functions. Protected HTTPS and SSH connections, secure credentials (login and password), protected configuration sets are used during the switch management and configuring process. A static MAC address may be linked to a switch port; thus the permitted MAC address will get privileged access to the network. Access control based on IEEE 802.1x makes users to have authenticated access resolved by RADIUS or TACACS+ server. L2+ Access Control List (ACL) allows a user to determine privileges based on IP address, MAC address, port number etc. UP-309MGEC comes in rack-mount form factor with integrated power supply and a metal chassis that is ideal for the secure protection of internal components. Switches provide PoE and non-PoE connectivity: both types of network devices can be deployed in office workspaces in the same local network.
