UPVEL offers network devices that are reasonably priced, compact, power efficient and compatible with various mounting options. Moreover, most of the models reduce costs of mounting and cabling, as they support PoE technology for IEEE 802.3at-compliant class-4 powered devices (PDs). Following the same pattern, UPVEL’s universal UR-950AP router helps customers to decrease their operating expenses on all fronts. The device satisfies all the requirements on a router, as well as covers some of the applications, traditionally assigned to servers or monitoring systems. UR-950AP supports two simultaneous Internet connections and can, therefore, replace a two-router setup for the purpose of creating a redundant (failover) uplink. In this case, WAN Gigabit Ethernet port provides IPv4/IPv6 connection to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or an uplink router, while 3G/4G/5G modem maintains a cellular Internet connection. The failover is performed by the routing mechanism based on the status of connections, default gateway accessibility or reception of ping-responses from hosts. Despite seeming complex, the setup is automatic and is based on user selections in the setup wizard. UR-950AP is equipped with a simple Wi-Fi access point (AP) controller that forms a Layer 2 (L2) domain with compatible UPVEL APs. The main purpose of this controller is the unification of AP settings and quick integration of new devices to the network. The controller together with APs represent a clear, predictable, and easily managed wireless infrastructure, where any node at any moment can be monitored or serviced. Please pay attention that UR-950AP does not have a Wi-Fi module and cannot connect to wireless clients on its own. UR-610AP access points were specifically designed for using UR-950AP as a controller. With the help of the pre-installed firmware, UR-950AP can replace some expensive monitoring systems. This router has embedded monitoring features that automatically collect statistics and logs from APs. Web-management interface allows customers to obtain APs operational reports. UR-950AP firmware may include more features in the future versions. There are many applications of UR-950AP devices: from small offices to large construction sites.
